Making a Booking with Camping@Golspie

When making this booking you agree and understand.

  • That you or at least one member of your party is eighteen years or over,
  • That you have the authority of all persons in your party to book on their behalf.
  • That you are responsible for any loss, additional cleaning or damage caused by any member of your party or animal accompanying you.
  • That the prices shown on your Booking Confirmation is for the specific number of pitches and number of nights that you have booked
  • That you are entitled to park one car per pitch.
  • That any additional vehicles and/or trailers are chargeable and must be authorised.
  • That special request, including requests for adjacent camping pitches, must be indicated to us at the time of booking, and cannot be guaranteed.
  • That there are no more than 1 motorhome/caravan per pitch.

  • That contact with Camping@Golspie is made with the campsite within reasonable office hours. If you have either made late booking or an agreement has been made that payment on arrival is acceptable, that you are also bound by these same terms and conditions.
  • That you must pay for your booking in full prior to arrival, and you have paid by cash and/or credit/debit card or other means acceptable by us.
  • That you cannot use our facilities/services or sleep anywhere on site without paying.
  • That if any member of the party has any special needs or requirements, please let us know and we will try to accommodate these, but we cannot guarantee this is always possible.

Refunds and Cancellations

The guest will be charged 30% of the total price if they cancel after reservation and the total price if they cancel within the 1 day before arrival. Refunds will not be given if you decide to cancel your booking or leave the campsite early due to inclement weather, illness, or other reasons beyond your control. We recommend that you buy holiday insurance to compensate you in these circumstances. We may have to cancel or change a booking in a significant way due to events beyond our control. If this occurs, we will return to you any money paid in respect of the booking, but we will not otherwise be liable for any loss caused by cancellation or alteration.

Group Booking

We cannot accept large family or friend groups without prior arrangement. Proof of group status and a security deposit may be required prior to your booking. Our campsite is not suitable for stag, hen or celebration parties. If your group consists of such a party, we will refuse to allow you access and require you to leave the campsite.

Pitch Limitations

Occupation for each pitch is limited for one motorhome/caravan. All pitches have an electrical hookup. Water taps are conveniently placed throughout the campsite.

You must comply with any general regulations relating to our campsites. A summary of these may be found on notices displayed around the site. If in any doubt, please ask.

Arrivals and Departure

Arrivals are from anytime and the latest arrival time is 20.00pm. All pitches must be vacated by 12.00am the morning of your departure. Any stay that extends beyond this period may be subject to a charge daily.

Behaviour

No structures, including rope swings and washing lines can be tied or secured to any trees or other fences on the campsite.
Any structures that are or are judged to be causing damage to the campsite will be taken down or removed. The owner/manager reserves the right to do so without prior consent and wholly at the owner/manger’s discretion. We operate a strict ‘No Noise’ policy between the hours of 22.00 and 07.30 and we ask that you refrain from excessive noise at all other times. We reserve the right to ask any guest to leave who present a menace or disturbance to other campers including excessive noise and failure to adhere to campsite regulations without refund. We reserve the right to ask any guest to leave who uses the campsite for any dangerous, illegal or immoral activities without refund.

Fire Safety

It is important that guests familiarise themselves with the IN CASE OF FIRE ACTION PLAN, these are clearly displayed around the campsite. Charcoal barbecues are permitted, provided they are raised off the ground, either on gravel or stone and not placed directly on the grass any campsite picnic tables. BBQs must be extinguished by 22.00. Do not dispose of any cigarette ends on the ground. If you are having a BBQ you should bring your own logs and charcoal. Open fires, guest fire pits, Chinese lanterns and fireworks on the campsite and surrounding areas are prohibited.

Negligence

Guests will be held responsible for any fire, damage or alteration to the camping pitch caused by negligence.

Travel Insurance

We recommend that you buy insurance to cover cancellation, loss, damage or injury. As a small business, we are not able to act as your insurers and re-arrange your stay due to your changes in personal circumstances.

Improvements and Maintenance

As we continually improve our facilities on our campsite you may find that there is development or refurbishment work being carried out in certain areas of the campsite. Whilst we take steps to reduce the impact of such works, you may experience noise and visual disturbance. Please observe appropriate signage and ensure children are supervised.
Maintenance work or housekeeping tasks may be undertaken in and around your pitch during your stay, although in such circumstances we try to minimise any inconvenience.

Keeping you Pitch Tidy

We ask that you leave your hardstanding and the area around your pitch in a clean and tidy manner upon your departure.
Group bookings that leave their Camping pitches in an untidy state may be charged or required to pay for any reasonable cleaning costs.

Waste Disposal Policy

The campsite has a limited fortnightly food waste collection. Food waste should be put into sealed black bags and placed in the green waste bin near the entrance to the campsite. We are all legally required to separate materials for recycling, so please use the recycling bins for paper, bottles, aluminium, cardboard and plastics, it is on your behalf that we take these items to the waste recycling centre. We are not responsible for taking your unwanted camping equipment to the recycling centre, take your items home with you. All areas of the campsite must be kept clear of rubbish and food waste.

Septic Tank

All grey and chemical waste water from the toilets, showers and sinks are connected to the main Golspie sewage plant.
It is forbidden to pour/put items such as cooking oil, baby wipes, feminine sanitary products, Durex, medication, nappies, ear buds, cigarette ends, plasters plastics and any chemical down the sink or toilet. All guests are requested to ensure compliance so as not to cause adverse ‘pollution’ or ‘harm’ to the water environment.

The Weather

In the event of a Meteorological Office Severe Weather Warning or any unpredictable adverse weather and at their sole discretion, the owner/manager may have to close the campsite. We trust that you appreciate that we can take no responsibility for the weather conditions at the time of your visit. In the event of this happening, Guests will be contacted as a matter of course but guests are also urged to check the status of the camp site if they are under any doubt due to weather conditions. If you are unable to occupy a camping pitch due to campsite closure, you may be able to obtain a full or partial refund, or a credit note directly from the campsite and at the discretion of the owner/manager and this is final. We accept no responsibility for finding alternative accommodation and exclude any liability for any cost incurred by you.

Should you choose not to travel because of the weather but the campsite remains open, no refunds are available under any circumstance. In the event of freezing temperatures, the water supply to the facilities may be turned off. Turning the water back on will be scheduled to suit the temperature but in the meantime alternative arrangements, for which you will be advised, will be coordinated by the owner/manager. In winter, please be aware that the campsite’s access, environment and surfaces can be cold, wet and slippery. Guests are advised to dress appropriately and ensure that their vehicles are ready for winter. Depending on the weather, conditions can be, icy, slippery, wet, hot, dry and brittle.

Guest are advised to take sensible precautions to minimise the risk of being bitten by ticks, midges or any sort of stinging/biting insect. We cannot be held responsible should any guest be bitten, and we advise guests to be mindful and take appropriate advice.

By booking with Camping@Golspie you are acknowledging that you are aware of the risks, hazards and dangers of entering the woodland and campsite.

Children

Parents are held responsible for their children’s welfare whilst playing on the campsite. Young children must be supervised always. Please be mindful that young plants are growing around the site and request that you tread carefully.

Pets

Dogs are made very welcome at the campsite, provided they are kept under strict control and always on their lead.

Dogs should be exercised away from the main camping areas. You are responsible for any mess, which should be cleared up and disposed of in the general bin. Guests must not leave their pet alone on the campsite under any circumstances. The campsite reserves the right to ask the owner of any dog which causes a nuisance or a threat, to remove the dog or leave without entitlement to a refund.

Comments & Complaints

Every reasonable care will be taken to ensure that the campsite and any amenities are presented to a high standard.
Should you find any cause for complaint, please immediately contact the campsite owner/manager, so that reasonable steps can then be taken to rectify the problem. The campsite will not normally make any refunds in respect of complaints made after the guest’s departure from the campsite if the guest did not make the problem or complaint known to the owner/staff during the Visitor’s stay.

Our Liability

If we fail to comply with these Booking Terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these Booking Terms or our negligence, but we are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Loss or damage is foreseeable if they were an obvious consequence of our breach or if they were contemplated by you and us at the time the contract was entered. We do not in any way exclude or limit our liability for:

  1. death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
  2. fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or
  3. any breach of the terms implied by the Consumers Rights Act 2015.

Events Outside Our Control

We will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under a Contract that is caused by an event outside of our control. An event outside of our control means any act or event beyond our reasonable control, including without limitation strikes, lockouts or other industrial action by third parties, civil commotion, riot, invasion, terrorist attack or threat of terrorist attack, war (whether declared or not) or threat or preparation for war, fire, explosion, storm, flood, earthquake, subsidence, epidemic or other natural disaster, or failure of public or private telecommunications and utility networks. If an event outside of our control takes place that affects the performance of our obligations under this contract:

  1. we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible to notify you, and
  2. our obligations under this contract will be suspended and the time for performance of our obligations will be extended for the duration of the event outside of our control. We will attempt to arrange a new booking with you after the event outside of our control is over.

Communications Between Us

If you wish to contact us in writing or to give us notice in writing, you can send this to us by email using the contact page on this website by post using the address at the bottom of these terms and conditions.

We will confirm receipt of this by contacting you in writing, normally by email. If we must contact you or give you notice in writing, we will do so by email or by pre-paid post to the address you provide to us in your booking.

Information We Collect

All the information we collect and hold about you and members of your party may be stored in our computer and other filing systems. We collect and keep information about you and members of your party to enable us to administer our services to you and for use by authorised authorities should such a case arise.

Other Important Terms

We may transfer our rights and obligations under this contract to another person/s and/or company, but this will not affect your rights or our obligations under these Booking Terms. You may not transfer a Booking to another person. This contract is between you as the lead guest, other members of your party and us. Each of the paragraphs of these Booking Terms operates separately. If any court or relevant authority decides that any of them are unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining paragraphs will remain in full force and effect. If we fail to insist that you perform any of your obligations under these Booking Terms, or if we do not enforce our rights against you, or if we delay in doing so, that will not mean that we have waived our rights against you and will not mean that you do not have to comply with those obligations. If we do waive a default by you, we will only do so in writing, and that will not mean that we will automatically waive any later default by you. Please note that these Booking Terms and the Contract are governed by Scottish law. This means a Booking or a contract and any dispute or claim arising out of or about them will be governed by Scottish law. You and we both agree that the courts of Scotland will have non-exclusive jurisdiction. However, if you are a resident in a country other than Scotland you may also bring proceedings in your country of residence. We will not file a copy of the Contract between us.
